The 18th Judicial District of Colorado (encompassing Arapahoe, Douglas, Elbert and Lincoln Counties) recently announced that the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Clinic is the inaugural recipient of the Nonprofit Innovator Award for the “innovative ways [JAMLAC has] collaborated with the 18th Judicial District and supported victims of crime in our community with the mobile legal clinic.
As a part of National Crime Victims’ Rights Week, JAMLAC will be recognized as a leader in providing victims with the legal services they need to positively affect their own lives.
Representatives from the 18th Judicial District wrote this about this year’s inaugural Distinguished Victim Service Awards: “The Distinguished Victim Service awards provide an opportunity for those of us involved in victim assistance and victims’ rights work to reflect on what we do and what we have accomplished, and to re-energize our efforts for the work yet to be done. It is a time of celebration and learning of individual and group achievements encouraging each of us to strive for excellence in fulfilling our responsibilities to victims and survivors. It is also a time to recognize the remarkable strength and achievements of crime victims and survivors.”
JAMLAC is thankful for this recognition and will continue to provide legal services to victims throughout the Denver-Metro region.
