Navigating the legal system alone can be confusing and challenging.

But you don’t have to face it alone. We are here to help! We offer our services to all individuals, no matter their immigration status, race, religion, sexual orientation or gender.

Free Legal Services

JAMLAC provides free civil legal services through representation, workshops, and consultation clinics. Services are offered in English and Spanish. Interpreters are also available in other languages as needed, including ASL.

Do I qualify for legal help?

If you are in need of legal assistance but are unsure if you qualify, please review our eligibility requirements below.

Please be aware that:

  • JAMLAC is only able to serve low income clients (125% or below the federal income guidelines)
  • JAMLAC cannot take cases that have hearings within 3 weeks due to our intake process timeline
  • Pro bono cases are taken on a very limited basis

Services We Do Not Offer

Currently, JAMLAC cannot provide legal aid for:

  • Criminal cases
  • Asylum cases
  • Immigrants in detention

We offer legal help in these areas:

Immigration

We help immigrants with U-Visa, I-360 Self-Petition (VAWA), Lawful Permanent Residency, DACA, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status (SIJS), Naturalizations, and other immigration processes.

Family Law

We defend survivors of domestic violence and other crimes with divorce, custody, and child support issues, so they can break the cycle of abuse and begin to transform their lives.

Protection Orders

We ensure the protection of victims and survivors through representation and assistance with emergency, temporary, and permanent civil protection orders.

Pro Bono Program

On a limited basis, through our Pro Bono Project we consider Chapter 7 bankruptcy, sealing of records, minor traffic matters, tax issues, identification issues, elder law, wills, guardianship, debt negotiation, name change, and other civil matters.

Workshops & Clinics

We host workshops, such as our quarterly Naturalization Workshops, to help educate and inform those who may be in need of legal assistance or have legal questions. We also offer 12 legal clinics, in partnership with Christian Legal Society, across the Denver metro area where volunteer attorneys provide legal advice on various matters.
