January is National Human Trafficking Prevention Month

Members of the JAMLAC team joined the Denver Anti-Trafficking Alliance (DATA), Mayor Mike Johnston, the Denver Police Department, and the Denver District Attorney’s Office to recognize National Human Trafficking Awareness Day at a press conference and networking event.

Together, we stood in solidarity, wearing blue to raise awareness about the realities of human trafficking and the collective efforts needed to combat this injustice.

While January is dedicated to raising awareness, every day is an opportunity to take action. At JAMLAC, we are honored to work alongside incredible partners in the fight to END HUMAN TRAFFICKING and support survivors in reclaiming their lives.

If you or someone you know needs help or would like to report suspected trafficking, here are ways to do so:

  • Colorado Human Trafficking Hotline: Call 866-455-5075 or text 720-999-9724
  • National Human Trafficking Hotline: Call 888-373-7888 or text BE FREE (233-733)
  • In emergencies, call or text Denver 911
  • Here are a few tips to recognize the signs of a victim or trafficker

One of the shining examples of our work is the Older Adult Legal Program, which continues to make a meaningful difference in the lives of older adults by addressing their unique legal challenges with dignity and care.

Tailored Legal Support for Vulnerable Individuals

Under the leadership of Elizabeth Davidson, our attorney specializing in Older Adult law, and with the unwavering support of Intake Specialist, Nayeli Torreblanca and founding Attorney, Steve Thompson, the program has demonstrated remarkable success.
