JAMLAC Has a New Home: A Light Set on a Hill –

We are filled with gratitude and joy to share a major milestone in the life of JAMLAC: for the first time in our history, we have purchased our own building—and with it, a permanent home.

This is a significant moment for our organization and one we do not take lightly. Owning our own space represents stability, stewardship, and a long-term commitment to the community we serve. It is an incredible answer to prayer.

As we have prayed over this next chapter for JAMLAC, we’ve been reminded of Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:14–16

Our new building is located at 5400 Washington Street, Denver, CO 80216—quite literally set on a hill, with a beautiful view of downtown Denver. We believe this space will be a powerful tool for allowing the light of God’s love and justice to shine even brighter through our work with individuals and families facing poverty, abuse, and injustice.

This new home positions JAMLAC for long-term stability and growth. Having a permanent space allows us to strengthen our operations, steward our resources wisely, and expand our ability to serve our community with dignity, consistency, and care.

As we celebrate this milestone, we also want to express our deep gratitude to the volunteers who generously gave their time and energy to help make this transition possible. And now, more than ever, we are reminded that while a building gives us a home, it is the continued support of our community—our donors, partners, and volunteers—that allows JAMLAC’s mission to move forward and grow. We are so grateful to walk this next chapter together.
