by | Apr 15, 2025 | Uncategorized

We are excited to share some incredible updates as we continue growing our dedicated JAMLAC team. Please join us in welcoming our newest staff members and celebrating exciting promotions!

Welcome, Renzo R. Walton – DOJ Accredited Representative

We’re excited to welcome Renzo R. Walton to our team this April as a DOJ Accredited Representative. Originally from Lima, Peru, Renzo brings over 16 years of experience serving communities in Steamboat Springs, where he led immigration services for a local nonprofit. His career began as a Community Navigator, Medical Interpreter, and Naturalization Trainer—roles that grounded his deep commitment to equity, access, and trust. With a passion for advocacy and empowerment, Renzo has dedicated his work to helping individuals overcome barriers, navigate legal systems, and build pathways toward stability and self-sufficiency.

Renzo recently joined the Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center (JAMLAC) as a DOJ Accredited Representative. He was drawn to JAMLAC’s mission because of his deep commitment to walking alongside individuals at some of the most vulnerable moments in their lives. He believes that providing legal support and compassionate representation can help alleviate the burden of navigating a complex immigration system—especially for survivors who are focused on healing and survival.

In addition to his role at JAMLAC, Renzo currently serves as an appointee to the Equal Justice Authority Board and as a governance committee member for RISE, an LGBTQ+ fund focused on equity and inclusion.

Now based in Denver, Renzo enjoys spending his free time skiing, paddle boarding, and exploring Colorado’s outdoors with his dog, Luna.

Introducing Susana Bedoya-Rodríguez – Front Desk Clerk

We’re so happy to welcome Susana Bedoya-Rodríguez as JAMLAC’s newest Front Desk Clerk!

Originally from Mexico and bilingual in Spanish and English, Susana first connected with JAMLAC as a volunteer. She quickly fell in love with the organization’s passion for helping others, and is now excited to serve our clients and community in her new role.

“I chose to work at JAMLAC because I wanted to be part of an organization that is passionate about seeking justice for the oppressed, and empowering individuals to direct their own lives. Working here allows me to contribute to a team that serves a community who has overcome many obstacles.”

Susana is committed to ensuring that every person who walks through our doors feels welcomed and supported.
Fun fact: She loves baking and experimenting with new recipes in her free time!
