As we step into November, we take a moment to look back with gratitude on all that our JAMLAC community accomplished during October’s Domestic Violence Awareness Month — and to reaffirm our commitment to this work every day of the year.
- Together, we took meaningful action: we raised $67,000 at Oktoberfest in partnership with KerraneStorz and Orten Cavanagh Holmes & Hunt, funds that will help survivors and families rebuild their lives with safety and dignity.
- We’re honored to share that JAMLAC has been awarded the 2025 DASH (Domestic Abuse Survivor Heroes) Award, recognizing our unwavering commitment to supporting survivors and creating lasting ripples of hope, healing, and justice in our community.
- Our team wore purple in solidarity, hosted Former Judge Kerri and her team to discuss supporting vulnerable immigrants and victims of crime.
- Gathered as a staff to watch Leslie Morgan Steiner’s TED Talk “Why Domestic Violence Victims Don’t Leave” — a powerful reminder of the courage it takes to break free from abuse.
Although Domestic Violence Awareness Month has ended, our commitment continues. We encourage everyone to keep taking small but meaningful steps — whether by sharing resources, checking in with a friend, or volunteering with a local organization. Every action matters.
