Did you know your retirement savings can also help provide access to justice?
If you are 70½ or older, you may be able to make a gift directly from your IRA to JAMLAC through a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), sometimes called an IRA charitable rollover. For those who are required to take annual distributions from their IRA, a qualified charitable gift may also count toward all or part of that requirement.
The process can be simple: instead of receiving the funds yourself and then making a donation, you ask your IRA administrator to send the contribution directly to JAMLAC. When the applicable IRS requirements are met, the distribution generally is not included in your taxable income.
Your gift can help JAMLAC continue providing compassionate legal representation to people facing poverty and oppression while offering you another meaningful way to plan your charitable giving.
