JAMLAC Has a New Home: A Light Set on a Hill –

We are filled with gratitude and joy to share a big milestone in the life of Justice and Mercy Legal Aid Center (JAMLAC): we have a new home.

This moment feels like an incredible answer to prayer.

As we have prayed over this next chapter for JAMLAC, we’ve been reminded of Jesus’ words from the Sermon on the Mount:

“You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hid. Nor do men light a lamp and put it under a bushel, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:14–16

Our new building is located at 5400 Washington Street, Denver, CO 80216 — quite literally set on a hill, with a beautiful view of downtown Denver. We believe this space will be a powerful tool for allowing the light of God’s love and justice to shine even brighter through our work with individuals and families facing poverty, abuse, and injustice.

A Foundation for the Future

This new home positions JAMLAC for long-term stability and growth. Having a permanent space will allow us to strengthen our operations, steward our resources wisely, and expand our ability to serve more families across Colorado. It represents not just a physical move, but a step forward in sustainability, impact, and vision. More than 30 volunteers contributed over 100 hours to help make this move possible, saving JAMLAC nearly $10,000 and giving our staff and board the space to breathe and stay focused on our mission.

What to Know During the Transition

While we are currently in a transition period, the majority of our team is already operating from our new Washington Street location.
