JAMLAC at the ALL Creative Mixer organized by Albuja Law and the Conference on the protection of LGBTQ+ rights in Mexico and Colorado, held at the Mexican Consulate.
We are thrilled to share with you the impactful events and collaborations that took place during the month of June. JAMLAC participated in addressing immigration challenges faced by the LGBTQ+ community. These efforts were undertaken with the aim of ensuring that all individuals, no matter their sexual orientation or gender identity, have access to the necessary protections and resources to build safe and prosperous lives in the United States.
In one such event, JAMLAC’s Immigration Director and Co-Founder, Sulma Mendoza, had the honor of delivering a speech at the Conference on the protection of LGBTQ+ rights in Mexico and Colorado, held at the Mexican Consulate. Her speech shed light on the importance of U-Visas and the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) petitions available which provide vital protections for LGBTQ+ individuals facing immigration challenges. It was a testament to JAMLAC’s commitment to inclusivity, as well as our dedication to protecting the rights of individuals in the LGBTQ+ community.
Also, JAMLAC participated in the first ALL Creative Mixer organized by Albuja Law, which focused on addressing immigration challenges for LGBTQ+ individuals in Colorado. This event celebrated collaboration, recognized allies, and provided a platform to raise awareness about U-Visas and VAWA. By fostering connections between legal professionals and LGBTQ+ individuals, the Creative Mixer aimed to empower individuals with the knowledge and resources to navigate the immigration system successfully.
We understand that our audience is diverse, and we value the importance of engaging with individuals from all backgrounds. As a result, we approach these discussions with empathy and respect, ensuring that we provide legal information that is valuable to all members of our community. We believe that promoting justice for all is crucial for the well-being of our society as a whole.
At JAMLAC, we remain dedicated to our mission of seeking justice for people who are struggling with poverty and oppression by providing civil legal representation to vulnerable populations, including those in the LGBTQ+ community. We are grateful for your continued support, which enables us to make a lasting impact in the lives of those in need.
Together, we can create a society that recognizes and respects the rights of all individuals, thank you for being an essential part of our journey.
